Sacramento County Sheriff Training Unit’s Location

Located off of Highway 50 at the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Training Center.  Take Highway 50 to Watt Avenue off ramp, go North on Watt over the American River and take “American River Drive” off ramp. Proceed east to Sandbar then right.on Sandbar to  Riverwalk Drive is the second left turn. (look for the Sheriff’s Training Unit sign!)..  .

Materials to Bring

For the Crime Scene Investigationa and Reconstruction class: Basic Crime Scene kit and pacakging materials, scene camera and hearing protection (range activity).

For the Advanced Reconstruciton/ Major Scene Logistics course: Basic Scene kit and camera, specific list of resources and contacts (OES) available in multiple death investigation involving extended on scene activity and multiple agencies

For the Bloodstain Pattern Course: Camera, full body protection such as a Tyvek suit.

Bloodstain Pattern Interpretation

Bloodstain Pattern interpretation will be offered in Sacramento California at the Sheriff’s Departments Training facility during the week of October 26-30, 2015.   POST Plan III registration fee is  $438. To register for courses at the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office contact training@sacsheriff.com.  Please bring a camera, “tyvek” like protective clothing (one set with boots and head cover) to the class. You will be beating, chopping and thowing (pig) blood in rooms constructed for your use.

Bloodstain Pattern interpretation will be offered in Merced California at UC Merced – Castle Facility, Redwood Room 4225 N. Hospital Road, Atwater, CA. 95301 During the week of June 8th, 2015.  This is  POST Plan III, $438.00   To register for courses UC Merced  Sergeant Jeff Godfrey at his office phone (209) 228-4215 or by cell at (209) 205-8603.  His email address is jgodfrey@ucmerced.edu.  Please bring a camera, “tyvek” like protective clothing (one set with boots and head cover) to the class.
